What does this mean?

Being able to view office desired location of damper placement in the field saves money, but that is just the beginning of the benefits. Not only can the field operator quickly go to the desired exact location with the simple intuitive mobile device quickly, but they can also provide the office with the exact location in 3d (X,Y,Z) with picture and attributes when the asset is placed.  Attributes such as part number, asset assigned number to even environment conditions like current temperature can be included.  The system is live, meaning, anyone in the office can see the placement once the placement is made and saved in the field.

Another highlight is being able to completely bypass the time and process of requesting land owner permission so that a ground crew can setup GPS and gather location.  How many man hours are consumed and how accurate is using a ground crew guestimating the position 100+ft above ones head? Using measure wheels can be cumbersome as they slip or drag and don’t take line sag into consideration. We have eliminated this process. Is the asset placement recorded with accuracy and precision? – ours does.  Can your office see the placement as they occur? – ours does.

In the field:

The device shows office calculated placements of the assets.  Shows the live location of the user, the direction to the next closest desired asset placement allowing the field operators to move quickly to the next position.  Once approaching, both audible sounds and a border flashing provides the operator insight to when they are getting close.  Thresholds programed into the mobile device means, a simple red, yellow, green pattern is displayed, green meaning placement is within the office accepted threshold.

The field crew can then make the asset placement, take pictures and use the high accuracy GPS to record the position.  This whole process uses our Trimble GPS subscription for live sub meter GPS correction and leverages our live GIS Servers allowing seamless flow of information for both Office and Field staff.

High accuracy GPS GNSS receiver is used in conjunction with live GPS correction feed.
